Whole Wheat Chillas

oatmeal and Banana


You will need ..

  • 1 cup whole wheat atta-sifted.

  • 2 tbsp curd.

  • 1 ½ cup water

  • ¼ onion-finely chopped (2 tbsp).

  • ¾ tsp salt or to taste.

  • Pinch of roasted cumin (bhuna jeera) powder or chaat masala.

How to make Whole Wheat Chillas:

  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly to make a smooth batter of thickish pouring consistency making sure that all lumps are broken down.

  • Heat 1 tsp oil on a non-stick tawa. Pour 2 tbsp batter and spread into a circle using a spatula keeping the flame low.

  • After about 3-4 minutes, when the sides begin to rice and light brown patches appear on the lower surface turn and cook the other side. Serve with dahi.

Note:

For Meetha Chillas: Mix 1 cup whole wheat flour with ½ cup milk. Add enough water to get thick pouring consistency. Add 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp almond powder. Proceed from step 2.
