At this age baby should be taking a variety of cereal, pulses, vegetables and having solid meas 3 times a day.

The baby will probably try self feeding at least her favorite dishes but never leave your baby alone when eating because of the risk of choking.

Don’t give honey until age one because it can carry a small risk of infant botulism.

Depending upon your infant’s diet, vitamin drop may be recommended. Ask your doctor for more advice.

This is the age when feeding problems may start. To avoid this, do not push too hard while feeding and try and make the mealtime pleasant and an opportunity to bond with your baby.

At this age the baby’ diet needs to be gradually modified so that it eventually merges with the meals prepared for the rest of the family. Thus, Dal- Chawal, Dal-Roti (pieces of soft phulkas soaked in hot dal), Dudh-Roti(pieces of soft phulkas soaked in sweet milk) should be included in the baby’s/toddler’s diet. A number of other nutritious recipes for babies/toddler’s of this age which can also be enjoyed by older siblings/other family members are given.
