Cottage Cheese Balls


You will need ..

  • ½ litre full cream milk or 1/3 cup grated ready-made paneer.

  • Lemon for curding the milk

  • 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)-dry roast on tawa for 2 minutes on low heat

  • 2tbsp whole wheat flour (atta).

  • 1 tsp chaat masala

  • Tiny pinch of pepper.

How to make Cottage Cheese Balls

  1. Put the milk to boil. As soon as the milk start to boil, add lemon juice by squeezing lemon through a strainer to discard any seeds.

  2. When the milk has completely curdled (1-2 minutes), remove from flame and strain the curdled milk through a muslin cloth. The soft paneer (1/3 cup) will be collected while the liquid can be used to make dal or dough.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients to the paneer, mix thoroughly with the palm to make a smooth mixture. Make into small balls.

  4. Deep dry 1-2 balls at a time till the balls turn golden brown.
